The Teton Range offers two very different bases: the polished resort scene of Jackson Hole and Teton Village on the Wyoming side, the classic in-park lodges of Grand Teton National Park, and the quieter, more affordable Idaho side around Driggs, Victor and slopeside at Grand Targhee. The free START bus links Jackson and Teton Village; a car is essential for crossing Teton Pass.
Town of Jackson (WY). Walkable downtown around Town Square — dining, galleries, nightlife and Snow King. Good for: First-timers, dining & nightlife, summer park trips.
Teton Village (WY, slopeside). At the base of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, ~20 min from town. Good for: Skiers wanting ski-in/ski-out on the Wyoming side.
In-park lodges (Grand Teton NP). Historic lodges inside the park, steps from the peaks, lakes and trailheads. Good for: Wildlife, hiking and waking up under the Tetons.
Teton Valley, Idaho (Driggs & Victor). The quiet, affordable west side of the range — small-town charm with the Tetons across the valley. Good for: Budget-conscious travelers, powder days and a mellower pace.
Grand Targhee Resort (ID, slopeside). Ski-in/ski-out lodging on the west slope of the range above Alta, WY/Driggs, ID. Good for: Powder hunters wanting slopeside on the Idaho side.
